Available and up for your consideration at JLD Auto Group is this 1960 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite! Re-finished in Chevrolet's Crocus Yellow Exterior Paint, this example also has Black Interior and shows only 9k miles. However, total mileage is unknown for this car. Imported stateside through a US distributor in New York, this example originally departed the factory on December 24, 1959. In 1996, a highly appreciative buyer purchased the vehicle and retained ownership of it until 2021, completing 25 years of ownership. Mechanically, this Bugeye is very sound, with many recent mechanical refurbishments being completed in 2016-2017. Work completed to the 948cc Inline-Four engine includes:

• Block magnafluxed, decked, and honed
• New block seals, core plugs, and oil passageway plugs
• .020" under main and rod bearings
• New thrust bearings and piston rings
• Cylinder head cleaned and magnafluxed
• New valvetrain and hardened seats
• Rebuilt carburetors with new needles, seats, throttle shafts, and gaskets
• New cloth-wrapped wiring harness
• New ignition components
• New exhaust downpipe and muffler

Beyond these tasks, the fuel tank and lines were flushed, and new urethane front-end bushings were installed along with the tie rod ends being replaced. Other suspension and steering components were replaced as needed, and additionally, the 4-speed manual was fitted with a new clutch kit. Finally, the braking system was fitted with new master and wheel cylinders, as well as new drums and shoes. In the interior, new black seat covers are present, with original seat structural components being utilized. Several other surfaces were refinished and refurbished, contributing to a very presentable interior. An original Smiths heater is also present, as optioned from the factory. Windshield washers and folding wind wings are also included, described as accessories of the vehicle.

Included with this example are its front bumpers, side window curtains, an exterior-color-matched hard top, and a new old-stock soft top with structural components. A simply adorable vehicle, this Bugeye Sprite is ready to attend many car shows and bring smiles to the faces of anyone who gazes upon it.
